Low-minimum packaging runs for small brands

Digital printing removed the plate cost that used to make short runs impossible. At 50 to 500 units, digital is almost always the right call.

Somewhere between 500 and 1,500 units the maths flips: offset plate costs get amortised and per-unit price drops sharply.

Start digital, prove the design in market, then move to offset when your reorder cadence is predictable. The die line carries over unchanged.

Keep structural changes and artwork changes in separate rounds. Retooling and reprinting at once is the most common way a small run gets expensive.
